How can existing machines be made fit for the next 10 to 20 years without replacing them?

Our solution: targeted retrofitting

Many production machines are robust, reliable, and economically depreciated – but not networked. Retrofitting specifically adds sensor technology, data acquisition and interfaces, making them digitally visible step by step without changing their basic functions. It is usually more cost-effective than purchasing new equipment.

It is important to distinguish between two retrofit approaches:

  • Life-sustaining retrofit: Brings the system up to the latest state of the art in terms of its basic functions.
  • Industry 4.0 retrofit: The basic functions of the machine remain unchanged, while it is gradually digitized – from simple process data acquisition to complex applications.

We offer you:

Analysis, strategy and action from a single source:

  • Inventory of affected machines on site and identification of retrofit and digitization potential
  • Creation of a customized checklist of necessary measures, with special consideration given to the new EU Machinery Directive 2023/1230 (control system modernization, AI, cybersecurity, etc.)

Customized offer for:

  • Retrofit of mechanics and/or

  • Retrofit of software to Industry 4.0 level:
    - Production data acquisition
    - Process optimization
    - Occupational safety
    - Maintenance planning
    - Cybersecurity, AI, etc. in compliance with EU Machinery Directive 2023/1230

Your benefits:

  • Retention of machine structure and certification status
provided that no substantial modifications are made and the core functionis retained.
  • Significantly lower training costs and fewer production interruptions
    than with new systems.
  • Minimized investment and downtime risk:
Step-by-step modernization protects investments, reduces downtime, and enables continuous production.

Ready for the new Machinery Regulation 2023/1230

By January 20, 2027, all machines on the EU market must be designed in such a way that they can withstand unauthorized access or manipulation that could impair safety-critical functions.
There is no transition period.

As a machine manufacturer, we are already taking these requirements into account and integrating protective measures to ensure the safe design, manufacture, and use of the machines – taking into account digital technologies and the complexity of modern manufacturing.

Existing machines:
Design plans, software architecture, and network integration points must be reevaluated.
In addition, clear instructions and documentation on cybersecurity will be required.

Through our integration into the Pütz Group– in particular, our collaboration with the specialists at Pütz Prozessautomatisierung GmbH – you benefit from our many years of experience in the field of automation technology.

At Accumation GmbH, we combine this automation expertise with our many years of experience in the development and construction of machines for battery production and in special machine construction.
